The 165 Barrington Ave. Tenant Group came together in response to the "above guideline increase" proposed by Ranee management. We aim to inform the tenants of 165 Barrington Ave of their rights and options on this matter.

Alternative option for rent starting July 1, 2022:
In response to the recent “Notice Re. Last Month Deposit Interest Payment” from RANEE, we are providing an alternative option on what to include in the total rental payment for July 1:
Include only the government-approved annual 1.2 % increase for July payment (Rent x 1.012).
Include an additional 1.2% increase amount on the Last Month’s Rent Deposit that Ranee holds for tenants
(Last month’s deposit x 1.012).
Deduct the interest Ranee offers on Last Month’s Rent deposit from the total.
For the remaining 11 months of the lease, the tenant has the option only to pay the current rent plus 1.2% (Rent x 1.012) until the Landlord and Tenant Board approve the Above Guideline increase.
